Welcome to the Library, BTC College of Agriculture and Research Station (Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya), Bilaspur (C.G.). The primary objective of the library is to support the educational and research programs of the college by providing physical and online access to information.
The Library, BTCCARS, Bilaspur it’s a rich collection of books and online resources in the field of Agricultural, Horticulture, and allied sciences. Currently, more than 9000+ books of the collection include textbooks for the B.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Sc (Agriculture) in Agronomy, Entomology, Vegetable Science, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology and Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry. The library collection also includes General Books and Chhattisgarhi Books and a Competitive book for the preparation of competitive examinations.
All operations of the Library are automated with the help of Koha an open-source Integrated Library System software package. The database for the entire collection has been created and available through the On-Line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to the users. The library has free Internet and Wi-Fi facilities for its users. E-journals consortium (CeRA) service of NAIP (National Agricultural Innovation Project ) through ICAR has been made available to its users. Access of full text and statistical databases, such as “Science Direct”, “CAB Abstracts”, “CAB eBooks”, “e-KrishiShiksha”, “Krishiprabha” and “OPAC” were made online available to the users. The URLs of available e-resources are given for instant access. Library provides a reprography facility to its users on subsidized rates along with current awareness and SDI services. The Library also extend the facilities to access E-journals consortium (CeRA) service of NAIP (National Agricultural Innovation Project) and “Krishiprabha” online on IP based accesses.
The library occupies the area of 3600 sqft. It is having a separate reading room for UG and PG Students, with a seating capacity of 60 seats. It is also having a separate Internet section, Stack room, Circulation Section, ST/SC Book Bank, Language Laboratory. The library has 30 computers, 1 Scanner, 1 Photocopier Machine and 1 Printer to provide the service on a request basis.
